Overview of the 8 free modules included with every ContentMK plan.

ContentMK ships with 8 free modules that provide a complete content management workflow out of the box. These modules are included with all plans — Starter, Professional, and Premium — and can be activated per site at no additional cost.

Content Planning

A complete editorial planning suite with four components:

  • Content Ideas — Maintain an idea backlog with a status workflow: Idea, Researching, Planned, In Progress, Published. Ideas link to articles when published.
  • Content Clusters — Group articles and ideas by topic for authority building. Visual coverage tracking per cluster.
  • Update Scheduling — Assign update frequencies (weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, yearly) to articles. Overdue items surface on the dashboard.
  • Content Briefs — Create structured briefs with target keyword, search intent, outline, word count target, tone notes, competitor URLs, and linking targets. Export as Markdown or PDF.

Import Tools

Three methods to import existing content: WordPress REST API (with progress tracking and duplicate detection), Sitemap crawl (auto-detects from robots.txt), and CSV upload (drag-and-drop with fuzzy column mapping). All methods share URL-based duplicate detection and import undo.

Basic SEO

SEO metadata tracking per article: target keyword, search volume, and keyword difficulty. Includes WordPress SEO plugin integration (auto-detects Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress, AIOSEO), schema markup tracking with per-type coverage dashboard, and an SEO completeness indicator that feeds into the health score. Source tracking shows where each data point came from.

Internal linking management with manual link tracking (inbound and outbound per article), auto-suggestions using a three-layer algorithm (cluster matching, content overlap, and link gap analysis), and suggestion progress tracking. Link counts feed into the health score’s 20% internal links factor.

Social Sharing

Track which articles have been shared on which platforms. Default platforms: Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X/Twitter — configurable per site. Supports multiple shares per article (for resharing evergreen content). Includes “Unshared” and “Ready to reshare” filters. Share coverage feeds the health score’s 15% social factor.

Article Types

Classify articles by content type: Review, Guide, News, Feature, How-To, Comparison, Listicle, Explainer, Roundup, Event, Recall, Podcast, Opinion, Interview, Case Study. Add custom types per site. Color-coded type badges appear on article cards with filter-by-type support and a distribution chart on the dashboard.

WordPress Tag Manager

Bidirectional WordPress tag and category management via the Sync Engine. Syncs your full tag catalog with article counts, detects issues (typos, duplicates, orphans, thin tags, overly broad tags), and supports write operations (rename, delete, merge) with rate-limited batch processing. Includes tag gap analysis per article and naming convention enforcement.

Claude Code Integration

AI-native workflows with three capabilities: structured exports (JSON or Markdown optimized for AI prompts), an MCP server (Model Context Protocol) that lets Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI tools query and update your ContentMK data directly (12 tools + 4 resources), and per-site AI access control (opt-in — no sites are exposed by default).
